Launching a Community-Driven Vision of the Granite State’s ECE System
Reaching the goal of ensuring all children age 0-5 have access to high quality, affordable early care and education requires a solid understanding of what a high-quality ECE system looks like and what it would truly cost.
To that end, Prenatal to Five Fiscal Strategies (P5FS), in partnership with the NH Early Childhood Funders Collaborative and NH Department of Health and Human Services, kicked off work here in New Hampshire on the early care and education (ECE) System Visioning and Comprehensive Fiscal Analysis initiative.
An initial launch in early June brought together nearly 100 stakeholders to lay the groundwork for the initiative’s first step, and follow-up meetings this month and on-going will continue the momentum. Building on prior and existing work, efforts will engage a broader state-wide community to shape a collaborative vision for a high-quality ECE system here in the Granite State. Future work involves determining the cost of high-quality care at a ECE program and system level, mapping both existing and needed financing to realize the shared ECE vision.
