Grant Programs

The Couch Family Foundation seeks to partner with organizations whose work aligns with its mission to be a catalyst for positive change in the lives of children and their families, especially those that are most vulnerable.

Eligibility Parameters

We prioritize grants to organizations that have strong leadership, deep community relationships, a collaborative approach to community building and that have demonstrated focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

We provide the following types of grant support:

  • Unrestricted (i.e., General Operating)
  • Project
  • Capital
  • Event Sponsorships

Please note for Capital Support and Event Sponsorship, contact us prior to applying for support. We only consider applications that are closely aligned with our mission and priorities. Event Sponsorships are only supported for organizations that have an established relationship with the Couch Family Foundation.

The Couch family has deep ties to the Upper Valley region of New Hampshire (Grafton and Sullivan Counties) and Vermont (Orange and Windsor Counties) and the island of Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts. For the Cherished Communities priority, applications submitted for the Upper Valley must be related to the specific towns identified in the four counties (Please see the map for the specific towns).

Grantees must meet the following requirements:

  • Applicants must have 501(c)3 nonprofit status or fiscal sponsorship through a 501(c)3 organization.
  • We do not make grants to individuals or religious organizations.
  • Grants are not made to public, private, or independent elementary and secondary schools. We will consider requests from nonprofit organizations whose purpose is to enhance the learning opportunities and well-being of children in school.
