Cherished Communities
Our Cherished Communities Priority focuses on enhancing the well-being of children, families, and communities in the Upper Valley of New Hampshire and Vermont, and on Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts.
Rooted in the Couch family’s deep ties to the Upper Valley region and Martha’s Vineyard, we prioritize nonprofits serving these cherished communities that are dedicated to advancing child and family well-being and to building conditions that allow children to thrive.
We support grants to organizations that align with our mission and values, demonstrate strong leadership and impact, embrace a collaborative approach to community change, and center racial equity in their work.
Within this priority, our strategy is to strengthen organizational capacity and services to:
- Enhance early childhood (Prenatal–5 years) through early learning and development, health and mental health, and family support services to promote the well-being of young children and their families.
- Nurture healthy, vibrant, and resilient communities by addressing local needs and emerging issues that impact children and families.
- Advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ) through their mission, programming, leadership, and partnerships.
We accept grant applications three times each year.
Please see Grant Seekers for specific information about eligibility and how to apply.
